Development and Best Practices
The aim of our Best Practice work is to facilitate stronger relationships between grower cooperatives and cooperative coffees and its roaster members. This includes helping producers arrange visits to our roasters, helping arrange visits by our roasters to grower communities, helping put together capacity building activities and information, and generally keeping in close touch with grower co-ops while following their progress.

Here you can find information on ways that Cooperative Coffees and our roaster members are getting involved in communities both locally and abroad with producer cooperatives.
Staying Green with CC members
Our members
are not only dedicated to bringing you a delicious cup of fairly traded
coffee, but to ensuring that their impact on the natural world in the
course of doing so is as little of possible. Find out some of the
methods and resources that our members use to achieve sustainable business practices. You might get inspired to do the same...
Member's development projects with producer partners
Find out more about what projects our roaster members are currently putting into action, and ways that they are searching for collaboration. Let`s take advantage of the great network of people and connections brought to us by the members of Cooperative Coffees.
Cooperative
Coffee's roaster-members are tackling a gamut of issues. Follow one of
the links below to learn about what projects are under in each sector
(though undoubtedly, there are always cross-overs as improving one
aspect of life has a ripple effect)

Have your own project that you would like other members of Cooperative Coffees to learn about? Fill out our questionnaire and send it to us. We will post the information on this site to spread the word. The more people hear about the great stuff that you are up to, the more they will want to get involved! The more people on board, the more you can accomplish.
Alliance Building--Collaboration ideas
Our roaster members are active members of their communities, making
great connections with a variety of organizations' good work. Here you
can find links to these potential and current allies that could aid you
in putting together effective local projects.
Since our meeting with representatives from the Palestinian Fair Trade delegation at the IFAT Conference, we have
been getting a crash course in the challenges of farming and craft production
and sales in an occupied territory, the astounding health benefits from First
Pressed, Organic Olive Oil… and the incredible (almost invincible) power of the
human spirit. Read more about Palestinian Fair Trade!

There are also a variety of network or alliance organizations that
promote and bring together the efforts of fair, green, local and/or
sustainable businesses.Coop Coffees members are generally deeply tied in to their local economy, and so its makes a lot of sense to tie in to organizations that help promote and provide tools to businesses that are dedicated to being active participants in their community.
BALLE is a great example of this kind of network. They are highly recognized, well regarded, and have networks in nearly every corner of the US and Canada. Check their website or sign up early for their upcoming conference (June 5-7, 2008), and receive a 200$ discount before November 30th.
