Montreal lodging and tourism
In addition to being the first Canadian city to offer the SCAA Cupping Judge Course, Montreal is also considered a cultural crossroads in North America. Known as the most "European" cities of the continent, the "joie de vivre" of its Quebecois inhabitants along with the convivial spirit of its many international residents gives Montreal a distinct flavor that is bound to give any visitor a thoroughly enjoyable experience...and reason to return!
The "Labo Equitable" is located in the beautiful and tranquil residential neighborhood of "Le Plateau" -- just north of downtown Montreal. A couple minutes' walk from "Laurier Village," the lab is conveniently close to this stretch of specialty boutiques, gourmet organic grocery stores, and artisan bakeries.
The International airport is located approximately 20 km (12 miles) from the lab and takes about 45 minutes, depending on traffic (here's a map of the route). A taxi ride to the lab from the airport costs about $50 one way. Montreal's public transit system has an express bus that leaves from the airport regularly and drops off at downtown metro stations and costs $8 ($15-$20 cab ride to lab from downtown). The ticket for the express bus can be used for 24 hours as a all access transit pass. L'aerobus is a private service that shuttles guests from the airport to the downtown central station for $16 (one way) and offers a complimentary "mini-shuttle" bus to major downtown hotels.

Montreal offers a vast selection of hotels, Bed & Breakfasts, inns, and affordable lodging. The surrounding neighborhood of the Labo Equitable is residential but has a few options within walking distance. Otherwise, participants can use public transportation, taxis or, if they're feeling adventurous, they can take advantage of the new and extensive Bixi bike-share program with stations right outside the lab building's door!
