Oregon Tilth is a nonprofit organization supporting and promoting biologically sound and socially equitable agriculture through education, research, advocacy, and certification. Oregon Tilth advocates sustainable approaches to agricultural production systems and processing, handling and marketing. Oregon Tilth's purpose is to educate gardeners, farmers, legislators, and the general public about the need to develop and use sustainable growing practices that promote soil health, conserve natural resources, and prevent environmental degradation while producing a clean and healthful food supply for humanity. TransfairUSA
TransFair USA, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is one of twenty members of Fairtrade Labelling Organizations International (FLO). Transfair audits transactions between US companies offering Fair Trade Certified™ products and the international suppliers from whom they source, in order to guarantee that the farmers and farm workers behind Fair Trade Certified goods were paid a fair, above-market price. Annual inspections conducted by FLO at the cooperative level ensure that socioeconomic development criteria are being met using increased Fair Trade revenues. Fairtrade Labeling Organization (FLO)
Fairtrade Labeling Organizations International (FLO) is the worldwide Fair Trade standard setting and certification organization. FLO guarantees that products sold anywhere in the world with a Fair trade label conforms to Fair trade standards. Based in Germany, FLO determines what products will be labeled as fair trade and it permits more than one million producers, workers, and their dependants in 50 countries to benefit from the Fair trade label. FTL follows strict criteria to ensure Fair Trade standards, assess that a Fair Trade label will socially and economically benefit the producer, guarantee a living wage to the producers, and enforce the proper use of Fair Trade labels. www.fairtrade.net .
