DOMA Coffee
Cooperative Coffees is thrilled by the new membership of DOMA Coffee, a roasting company from Post Falls, in the region of the lake Coeur d’Alene, in northern Idaho. DOMA is a coffee roasting company run with a strong social, economic and environmental conscience. DOMA Coffee shares the same values and vision about fair trade and sustainable development.

People at DOMA first heard of Cooperative Coffees through Dean Cycon’s book Javatrekker. They wanted to establish more direct relationships with the growers than the conventional green bean buying practises, which did not provide the transparency DOMA wanted. “We wanted to know who was growing our coffee and know that they were being paid a fair wage”,says James Hottenroth from DOMA.
About DOMA’s expectations about their involvement with Cooperative Coffees, James says that they expect to get better coffee and develop long term relationships with growers and other roasters that share the same concerns about fair trade and coffee quality.
