We started out as Coffee Sticklers. Larry was introduced to the coffee-roasting world when he lived in Seattle. When he started Larry’s Beans, his mission was to go to crazy lengths to find the best coffees in the world and roast them with precision and artistry. He was a hipster coffee zealot. We became Fair Trade Mavericks. We became mavericks when we became a founding member of Cooperative Coffees, the first and still the only group of independent coffee roasters that buys green beans directly from Fair Trade co-ops. Now we’re trying to change the world. Once our eyes were opened to Fair Trade, we saw that it was more than an equitable way to buy fantastic coffee from farmers who put their hearts and souls into growing it - it was an alternative economic model. A way to connect people from all corners of the world. Acting locally and globally. All our coffee is shade-grown and certified organic (or transitional organic)! We run two delivery vehicles on waste vegetable oil! We've just 'green-o-vated' our warehouse to include natural daylighting, low flush toilets, reclaimed timbers and edible landscaping. We've developed state-of-the-art bio-bags for our coffee that biodegrade in your home compost, or even in landfill! And we just LOVE to dance... |
