 Join us for a trip to Sumatra this November! Matt Damron\, Cooperative Cof
 fees' Quality Manager and Buyer for Asia\, will be leading a trip to Sumat
 ra to visit producer partners Koperasi Sumatera Permata Gayo (SPGC) and Ko
 kowagayo. November is the beginning of harvest season in Sumatra. You can 
 expect both field and warehouse visits! This trip is a great opportunity t
 o strengthen relationships with long-term partners and to learn more about
  SPGC and what distinguishes them from our former partners Permata Gayo. I
 n late 2025 an internal power struggle led to Fair Trade decertification a
 nd major organizational changes for Permata Gayo. While they continue to w
 ork toward a possible restructuring\, a majority of members have moved to 
 their sister organization - Koperasi Sumatera Permata Gayo (SPGC). All SUG
  coffees from the 2025/2026 harvest have come from this cooperative and th
 is will be our first formal visit with them. We're in the midst of plannin
 g and look forward to connecting with those who will be joining us! If you
